Food Photos make a BIG IMPACT
Big restaurant chains have spent decades and millions of dollars CONDITIONING the public to choose items on a menu based on photos. Restaurant customers are three times more likely to choose what they want to eat based on a photo, rather than the written word. It's not uncommon for restaurants to see a 150 to 300% increase in sales of items that have been featured on their menu with a photo.
If your restaurant doesn't currently have any decent food photos on your menu, WHY NOT? Great food photos have been proven to increase profits & bypass the normal NEED / WANT urges in our brains. The restaurants that don't have food photos on their menu usually fall within two primary types: small mom & pop's who don't have the knowledge, skills or funds necessary to do food photos the right way, OR upper scale, "fine dining" establishments that think food photos make menus look cheap.
For the mom & pop places, our Food Photo sessions are affordable, and we can walk you through every step of the process. From the selection of the "right" dishes to photograph, to attractive plate presentation, to finally selecting & editing the final photos for use on your menu, website or social media pages. We'll be there guiding you and making the process as smooth as possible.
For the fine dining places, food photos aren't a hindrance, but rather the expert application of one art form (photography) being used to show off your artistry in the kitchen. Food photos can delve deeply into man's primal psychology. They add to the sensual nature of fine dining, by creating anticipation that's rooted in the visual cortex, one of our strongest physical senses. The white table cloth aesthetic is all well and good, but wouldn't you rather be celebrating your brilliant artistic vision - all the way to the bank?
Our basic PRICING STRUCTURE for Food Photos
Our rate is $150 per photo shoot. If the shoot goes longer than 2 hours, there will be an additional $75 per hour charge. We will come to your restaurant to take the food photos. Please call us to discuss, if the shoot is more than 50 miles from New Orleans.
Most food photo sessions (in our experience) last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, and we can often shoot somewhere between 10 and 15 different plates / items in an hour. Please click the PHOTO GUIDELINES link (above) to view a PDF with some good information and tips for food photo shoots.
